The term “design patterns” originates from a book published in 1994, Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software. This paper presents a real world, non software instance of each design pattern from the book, Design Patterns - Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software [13]. The pattern specifications follow the same form as in GOF's Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software. This DZone Refcard provides a quick reference to the original 23 Gang of Four design patterns, as listed in the book Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software. [GoF] "Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software", E. The fifth chapter is the first part of the EDP catalog. The singleton pattern was described in the book “Design Patterns, Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software”, commonly called the Gang of Four book. Between objects that have been adapted to deal with certain forces can be observed both in the "real world" and in software objects. More recently, C# has popularized the delegate concept, contributing to the success of that language. The examples follow in sections 2 through 4. I thought it would be an interesting exercise to try and port each of the patterns described in the Gang of Four's seminal work Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software into C#. Design Patterns Elements of Reusable Object Oriented Software This book is commonly referred to as the 'Gang of Four' or GOF book. To test this hypothesis, a real world example was sought for each of the 23 Gang of Four Patterns [13]. Feeling the golden ore, all editors quickly produced a whole line of similar books, where patterns were adapted to various domains and languages : for C##, for Ruby, , etc. Data and Object Factory Page on the Command Pattern http://www.dofactory.com/Patterns/PatternCommand.aspx. This term was coined in a famous book that proposed a catalogue of "Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software", and became a best-seller in the Java world (usually referred to as the "GoF" book, for "Gang of Four" authors). For many applications, delegates simplify the use of elegant design patterns (Observer, Strategy, State[GoF]) composed of very loosely coupled objects. Standard C++ does not have true object-oriented function pointers. (Question 10) There two books have been around a while but are still important.
